Installation

  1. Extract the ZIP file directly to a drive, e.g. to C:\. This creates the folder C:\Nyxos2. Important: use a short path without spaces. The game will not start from long paths such as Desktop or Downloads.
  2. Start Nyxos2Patcher.exe in the folder and choose your language. The patcher checks the files and only downloads updates.
  3. Click Play and log in with your account. Always start the game through the patcher so you are automatically up to date.

Help with problems

My antivirus flags the patcher or deletes files
This is a false positive: our files are new and not digitally signed, so some antivirus programs (e.g. Windows Defender or Bitdefender) consider them suspicious. We have reported them to the vendors. Here is what to do:
  1. Restore the file: Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Protection history, open the entry and choose Actions → Allow.
  2. Add the folder C:\Nyxos2 as an exclusion: Virus & threat protection → Manage settings → Add or remove exclusions → Add an exclusion → Folder.
  3. Start the patcher and click Repair.
Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”
The patcher is not digitally signed (yet). Click More info and then Run anyway.
The game does not start or closes immediately
First check the path: the game folder must be short and must not contain spaces, for example C:\Nyxos2. Always start the game through Nyxos2Patcher.exe and click Repair if something is wrong. Error messages are written to syserr.txt in the game folder.
